The original movie Predator was the trigger of all of Yautja culture, and it seems that most fans (myself included) hold the original movie in higher esteem than any other form of Predator story. This could be due to the 'feel' of the movie - the way the commandos interact with each other so realistically, and the way that each character is crafted that makes us actually care about them. Along with, of course, the unique Predator itself - with its technology, weaponry and code of honour.
Made at the height of Arnie's success, Predator is an excellent example of the sci-fi action genre. Groundbreaking for a number of reasons and, like its 80s sibling Aliens is a benchmark against which all 'bug hunt' movies are measured.
Since Predator wreaked
havoc in the jungle and struck box-office gold, Hollywood
logic dictated that Predator 2 should raise hell in the
big, bad city - and Los Angeles was an ultra-violent playground for the invisibility-cloaked alien.
In 2010 comes the long-awaited release of a third Predator installment. Properly separated from the Aliens Vs Predator franchise, there could be new life breathed into our favourite hunter! Can we still live in hope of a decent Predator-only movie?
The discovery of an ancient pyramid
buried under the Antarctic ice sends a team of scientists and
adventurers to the frozen continent. There, they make an even
more terrifying discovery: two alien races at war. No matter
who wins, we lose.
A little town in the hills of Colorado will become the battleground between two of the deadliest extra-terrestrial lifeforms - the Alien and the Predator.
Although rated as disappointing by most fans, Alien Vs Predator did well enough at the box-office to ensure a sequel. And now the question is, would a third installment surpass the others?
The Predator characters and their battles are not only limited to fan stories and pictures. This page is dedicated to those talented people who have the ideas (and the means) to produce their very own Yautja movie masterpieces.
Even though the quality of the movies is outstanding (although AvP was somewhat disappointing in my opinion - and this is also reflected in the amount if bloopers listed), like most other movies they are not perfect. Following here is a list of mistakes and bloopers, and also a list of interesting information regarding all of the Predator-related movies.
